1. Pricing and tax display

  • The price display settings determine if product and shipping prices include or exclude tax, or show two versions of the price; one with, and the other without tax.
  • If the product price includes tax, the tax appears only if there is a tax rule that matches the tax origin, or if a customer address matches the tax rule. Events that can trigger a match include when a customer creates an account, logs in, or generates a tax and shipping estimate from the shopping cart.

Step 1: Configure price display settings

Go to backend> Stores>Settings> Configuration> Sales> Taxes> Price Display Settings

Step 2: Configure Shopping Cart Display Settings

Go to backend> Stores>Settings> Configuration> Sales> Taxes> Shopping Cart Display Settings

Step 3: Configure Orders, Invoices, Credit Memos Display Settings

Go to backend> Stores>Settings> Configuration> Sales> Taxes> Orders, Invoices, Credit Memos Display Settings

  • Unit price: Magento calculates the tax for each item and displays prices including tax.

Total tax amount: Magento rounds the tax for each item before adding the tax totals together.

  • Row total: Magento calculates the tax for each line (based on the row total field).

Total tax amount: Magento rounds the tax for each row and then adds them together.

  • Total: tax is calculated for each item and tax values are added to calculate the total unrounded tax amount for the order.

Total tax amount: rounding is then applied to the total tax amount.

2. Register customers

These are customer accounts found in the Magento system.

• They are stored in the customer_entity table, using the EAV data storage model.

• When a customer is logged in, all orders are associated with that customer’s account.

• Allows the customer to easily track the status of their orders.

In addition, the following is also associated:

• Addresses

• Billing Agreements

• Newsletter subscriptions

• Product Reviews

• Wish List

Allows you to remember their address in an address book for future purchases, thus reducing more data entry (friction) in the checkout process.

3. Guest customers

Your store can be configured to require shoppers to open an account before making a purchase. The default setting allows guests to make purchases, with an option to register for an account after they complete the checkout process

Guest customers can place orders (depending on the setting in Stores > Configuration > Sales > Checkout > Allow Guest Checkout).

• They will not be able to see their previous orders.

• Pretty much browses the site as an anonymous visitor.

4. Wishlist shopping cart options

  • A wish list is a list of products that a registered customer can share with friends, or save to transfer to the cart at a later date. When wish lists are enabled, the Add to Wishlist appears in the sidebar of category and product pages.
  • Wishlists can be updated from the dashboard of the customer account, items can be added or transferred between the wish list and cart by the customer or by the store

The Magento wishlist allows customers to save products that they wish to review for later. A visitor must have a customer account in order to add items to a wishlist.

  • In Open Source, customers have one wishlist. They can share the wishlist via email or add items to the cart. People who receive the wishlist can view the wishlist and add those items to their cart.

  • In Commerce, customers can have multiple wishlists. Customers can also make their wishlists public (so they can simply send their friends the link instead of sending an email).

5. Gift shopping cart options

The selection of available gift options appears in the cart before the checkout process begins. The Gift Options configuration determines if customers can add a gift message or greeting card, and the gift wrapping that are available. Each item in the order can have a separate message and gift wrapping. When applied to the entire order, a gift receipt and greeting card can be added, as well. The Gift Options configuration applies to the entire website, but can be overridden at the product level.
